Stevie Holly

Planet PLF 107 - "A Strange World" c/w "The Little Man"
February 1966

Stevie Holly rose to fleeting fame in early 1963 when at the age of 16 she was identified as John Lennon's girlfriend, at a time when John (age 22) had already secretly married. Born Ida Holly and from Liverpool, she was billed as Britain's first girl disc jockey, working as a compère at Liverpool's Majestic Ballroom. Later she became identified as a "friend" of The Beatles, which no doubt helped when she moved to London and became a model. Subsequently, she worked as a publicist.
Stevie Holly died in Marbella, Spain, on 20th June, 2013, aged 66. One of her legacies is this very rare and little heard record on Shel Talmy's Planet label.
